Mental Health Needs
It is now well known that 1 in 4 people have a mental health problem and for those who experience this it can really affect their daily living and quality of life. An individual's mental health can be influenced by many factors such as other health issues, relationships, work life, medication finances, housing security and the feeling of being part of a community.
Some people may have trouble managing these aspects of their life and may become withdrawn which may cause them to stop engaging socially. Not only will an individual stop engaging socially but they may also feel in low mood causing them to stop maintaining all aspects of life such as personal hygiene and nutrition.
360 can help people who are experiencing mental health problems with some of the practical day-to-day things they are finding difficult and provide companionship, alongside the therapy they may be receiving from health professionals. We can work with individuals to design the right care package for them, to provide support in the areas they feel they need, at the timings they feel are suitable. This can range from support with personal care to support to access local community facilities. Our flexible approach means that we can tailor the care to the individual, with a focus on recovery where possible.
We can also provide packages of care that support the transfer from a hospital environment into the community with reintegration as the ultimate goal. This may require several visits per day for short periods of time or longer periods of support in order to access the community and activities.
Some of the other areas we provide support with include:
- Washing and personal appearance
- Medication management
- Social activities
- Housework such shopping and domestic chores
- Preparing and cooking meals meals
- Household bills and managing money
- Planning activities and social engagement.
Our care and support workers are highly skilled and trained with wide ranging practical experience of supporting a range of mental health needs. They have all attended mandatory training within this area to enable them to aid individuals with mental health needs.
