Mental Health Needs
It is now well known that 1 in 4 people have a mental health problem, and for those who experience this it can really affect their daily living and quality of life. Some people may have trouble managing their finances, medications, personal hygiene and may become withdrawn and stop engaging socially.
Care and support at home can help people who are experiencing mental health problems with some of the practical day-to-day things they are finding difficult, alongside the therapy they may be receiving from health professionals. Mental health can be influenced by factors such as having good relationships and meaningful work, housing and feeling part of a community.
We work with individuals to design the right care package for them, to provide support in the areas they feel they need. This can range from support with personal care to support to access local community facilities. Our flexible approach means that we cantailoer the care to the individual, with a focus on recovery where possible. We provide packages of care that support the transfer from a hospital environment into the community with reintegration as the ultimate goal. This may require several visits per day for short periods of time or longer periods of support in order to access the community and activities.
Some of the other areas we provide support with include:
- washing and personal appearance
- medication management
- social activities
- housework; shopping
- preparing meals
- household bills and managing money
- planning activities and social engagement.
This is only a selection of the things we can help you with. If you require other services to suit your needs, please get in touch with us.
Our care and support workers are highly skilled and trained with wide ranging practical experience of supporting a range of mental health needs.
