The Care Certificate is a set of minimum standards that social care and health workers must follow when carrying out their day to day duties and must be covered as part of induction training for new workers. They were developed by Skills for Care and Skills for Health and launched in April 2015.
All our carers must attend mandatory training regarding the Care Certificate however this training is also available for those who are interested in completing the Care certificate and do not currently work for 360.
The training provided by 360 covers all of the 15 necessary Care Certificate standards:

Both these standards devise the way of working and thinking that protects both adults and children with care and support needs from any forms of abuse, harm and neglect. The standards help carers to recognise the signs and symptoms in which they should be made aware of to stop their service users from facing any forms of abuse whether this be physical or mental.
This standard provides clear knowledge on the administration of basic life support. This standard when working within domiciliary care is essential as the carer will be the first point of call if a client needs life support. Carers must know the signs of symptoms of an obstructed airway in order to administer basic life support.
All carers must be knowledgeable about the protocols and general health and safety legislation within health and social care. This is for the protection of the carer and the client within the work environment. These laws and regulations are generated by the government and must be followed across any work place. This standard focuses on legislation and confidentiality within the work place. Working in a domiciliary care setting carers are helping those with a vulnerability, confidentiality and handling information training protects the client within their own home. This training session will raise your awareness of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (MCA) and support your understanding of how the MCA impacts on anyone providing care or treatment to a person who lacks capacity to consent to care or treatment. The Mental Capacity Act 2005 allows restraint and restrictions to be used – but only if they are in a person's best interests, extra safeguards are needed if the restrictions and restraint used will deprive a person of their liberty.
The Mental Capacity Act 2005 (MCA) is also designed to protect and empower individuals who may lack the mental capacity to make their own decisions about their care and treatment. Although the Act came in to force 2005, knowledge and understanding remain patchy and sadly concerns about the treatment of people who lack capacity continue to arise. This has been highlighted through CQC monitoring reports 2014/15 and they state they will continue to monitor through their inspections. For those wishing to develop their knowledge and skills in providing care in accordance with the Mental Capacity Act 2005, this training aims to address this. Our one-day course with an experienced Mental Health Practitioner will provide you with a basic working knowledge of the legislation & policy and what it means for you in practice for your job role.
